加拿大亚伯特.皮斯里弗.中国手表博物馆（Alberta Museum of Chinese Horology in ** River）Ron Good先生对上海A581型机械手表的生产以及它的历史意义做了以下评价：
I’m sure that no one who worked to build the A-581 stopped to think that maybe, more than fifty years later, a very average person living in the northern part of Canada’s province of Alberta would view his two vintage A-581s as well-loved treasures, but I do. More than any other watch, A581s certainly remind me of China’s rise from hopeful and humble beginn ings to being a world respected and very large scale manufacturer of quality timepieces. But much more important than that, my own A581s remind me that good people all over the world share similar hopes, accomplishments, skills, struggles and interests, and that no one knows how much their work might mean to someone in the future...so it’s best to do one’s work well. I’m grateful to those who built the A581s for doing their work wonderfully well, and I’m looking forward to passing my beautiful and still strong A581s, and these lessons, to my child, to be passed to other generations... --Ron Good 我相信上海 A-581手表的生产者可能不太相信：在50多年后的今天，加拿大北部亚伯特省一个普通的人，会如此钟爱和珍惜他保存的两只上海A-581手表。 上海A-581手表比起其他的品牌更能提醒我：中国从困难与希望中起步，直到此时今日，成为令世界所赞慕的最大钟表制造出口国。 最重要的是：（上海A581手表）它提醒我们在这世界上曾经有一群优秀的人，为了共同的理想、无私地分享了自己的技术和成就、努力地去奋斗；而（我）相信，他们也许不会想到，他们奋斗的成果对后人所带来重大的影响！ 我非常感激这一群为上海A-581手表的制作所曾做出过贡献的工作者，我毫无疑问的将把这种精神，连同我的A-581手表传给我的子女，并一代一代的传承下去。 --作者：Ron Good |
