[size=1.1em]Watch enthusiasts, rejoice! For now's your chance to journey into the world of the 18th century watchmaking artisans known as cabinotiers ('craftsmen'). In cooperation with Vacheron Constantin, The National Museum of Singapore invites visitors to discover the history of the watchmaking Manufacture and that of Fine Watching in Geneva.

From 24 June to 14 August 2011, the first major public exhibition of the heritage, "Treasures of Vacheron Constantin - A legacy of watchmaking since 1755" will reveal over 250 years of creativity and know-how from the world's oldest watch Manufacture with a continuous history.

Expect to be enthralled by 180 exceptional pieces from the heritage of the Geneva-based Manufacture, displayed over more than 600 square metres, as they illustrate the evolution of watchmaking from the 18th century to the present day.

Gold movement with line engraving, decorated bezel, case-back adorned with an enamelled miniature reproducing the painting Les Bergers d'Arcadie by Nicolas Poussin
Double back cover engraved using the pounced ornament technique and depicting a pastoral scene.
Movement with line engraving of two angels
Diameter: 5 cm
Caliber 17" medium, round in German silver, lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, flat balance-spring, micrometer adjustment index, 18 jewels

Painted by a leading early 20th century Geneva miniaturist in enamels, Marie Goll.

Pocket watch presented by the Swiss Colony in Egypt to King Fouad I in 1929
