Glycine 腕表由Eugene Meylan成立于1914年，在其位于瑞士Bienne的制表工厂生产。 
Meylan是一个非常优秀的制表师，精益求精。在满足市场需求的同时，考虑了推进先进技术两者的平衡。很快，他成功地研制出极其精确的女士腕表，使Glycine 腕表成为市场上最好的小型表之一。当时的产品往往采用黄金和铂金，而且镶有钻石。 
Glycine 腕表当时已经成为高档手表市场的一员，然而，Meylan并没有就此止步。在1931年，他研发了运转良好的自动表，一经上市大受好评。其中一些GLYCINE Eugène Meylan SA自动表仍然在收藏界流通。 
Meylan在1934年出品了一系列计时表，均通过瑞士官方严格的质量控制测试。然而随即而来的大萧条和即将到来的二战对公司造成了沉重打击，当时瑞士甚至被切断了几乎所有的传统出口市场。 
然而，Glycine 腕表坚持了下来，甚至参加了只有29个参展商的1938年巴塞尔钟表博览会。 
 
战后，整个钟表业界迅速复苏。
随即Glycine 腕表重启了生产，并迅速利用最先进的技术推出了一系列自动表。
 
1952年推出了著名的VACUUM chronometers计时表，拥有卓越的耐水性和抗冲击性。
 1953年，AIRMAN飞行员系列GMT腕表一经推出即获得了热烈欢迎。经常乘坐洲际航班的乘客很容易查询两个地区的时间。
飞行员系列腕表自此成为了Glycine 腕表的核心产品，并一直延续到现在。

进入70年代，瑞士机械表受到了日本石英机芯的严重冲击。
技术革命所带来的石英机芯，连同世界各地的经济衰退以及瑞士法郎的升值，迫使许多传统腕表制造商面临灾难的边缘。
当时包括Glycine 腕表在内的高品质机械手表突然失去了来自世界各地的大量订单。老主顾转而购买石英手表或美国电子表。
 钟表市场经历了一个传统价值观的转变，随着石英手表的价格不断下跌，加剧了机械表的衰退。许多传统市场份额的丢失，使得该行业陷入整整六年的危机。保守估计，在全球范围内缩减了60,000个传统的机械表就业机会。
Glycine 腕表也深受其害，但成功的挺了下来。 1984年Glycine 腕表被卖给了曾经的合作伙伴Hans Brechbühler公司。进入90年代后，Glycine主攻44mm\46mm等大尺寸计时手表市场。

大表径好像还不是主流的,销售量估计也很难上来.

且面盘的设计上也并无突出的东西,第一眼看去感觉很普通.
